I was commissioned to work with the creative team at Lightbox to produce eye-catching and engaging animations / intros for a languages website. The mood and theme for the work will be portrayed in the introductory animation. The work varied from key frame character animation to short editing films.
The series of short animations introduced users to MYLO, a new way to learn languages. see mylo.dcsf.gov.uk for more information. The animations aim to give an insight to how best use MYLO, its resources and its key functions.
Taking the existing illustrations and working to a storyboard this animation required motion and animation of the characters. It was a good excuse for inverse kinetics, working with vectors and adding on subtle randomness via expressions. The storyboard show key sections that needed arriving at, I took these and elaborated to construct the story.
The animation was built entirely in After Effects, with all illustrations suppled as vectors, these were deconstructed ready for animating.
